The Girl in the Spider’s Web (2018)

Fede Alvarez has the ability to make a probably a good story to something disappointing and useless. One of is more successful and decent stories is Don’t Breathe (2016) that show his brilliance as a filmmaker. But if you seek a story where you’ll care about the plot and characters, this is not for you.  He has massacre everything that the REAL author Stieg Larsson, actually stood for. This is not the character that the world used to know and get to know along the way. This is something different.

It has been poisoned by the American touch where indicate that there is a lot of scene and manners from the United States of America. It’s a below-mediocre thriller movie that tries to be Swedish when isn’t. It doesn’t understand Stockholm culture or language. Therefore, it’s just a hybrid where the Americans, out of guilt, is trying to copycat Larsson work.  David Fincher tried at least something that kept that feeling. This does not. In short-term it would be waste of money and energy to even considering watching this movie. It’s like the Star Wars Prequels.

They exist but no one want to even knowledge that. In the prequel, it doesn’t try to even butcher everything that accomplished with these characters. This movie – The Girl in the Spider’s Web doesn’t. Much more, the prequel is probably much, much better than this. Cause no one cares any longer about these characters. No one care about the plot which has several flaws that you even can spot in these trailers during the marketing campaign.

Because in these characters, you’ll know that the antagonist behind all of this is Camilla Salander – the sister of Lisbeth Salander. She kills herself at the end. Somehow it feels extremely rushed through to get the story out. Maybe it’s because the book is that bad? Who knows? This isn’t a accurate story about Salander where you might recognize her. As this is a soft reboot and sequel of Fincher movie, the character differs way too much to make these to movies even connected. It doesn’t have the necessary depth that you wish these characters should have. Frankly, they are all flat in its dimensions. Sadly, Claire Foy who impressed a lot with the inpretation with her performance as the Queen Elisabeth II. She has even been awarded for her ambitious achievement and been officially marked as someone important in the industry and Hollywood as well.Compared to the crititcal-acclaimed Netflix-series, this is where Claire Foy get lost in her soul and performance. Obviously, no one should spend time watching about a movie about tristess and overrated actors and crew who doesn’t know or understand the concept of a movie like this.

Therefore; don’t waste anything on this bullshit!
