
The AMC’s show The Walking Dead (2010-) returns with more stories with Rick Grimes as three feature films are in production. Scott M. Gimple says these movies are being made as well because Andrew Lincoln is really nice guy.
The final episode starring Andrew Lincoln, aired last Sunday November 4th, yet it appears that he long-awaited departure makes fans rejoice once more. AMC has now announced that Lincoln is going to return as the Walker-killing main character that has survived into the ninth season. Last episode with Rick, ended with a helicopter came to his rescue. To find out his about this popular character’s fate, fans must wait for these upcoming movies. This does mean he survived in the latest episode, since he stars in all three movies. There is still not a script presented for Lincoln and he has not signed on for the trilogy.
First movie, written by Chief content officer; Scott M. Gimple, is going to focus specific on Rick Grimes exit from the group and how exactly he was rescued. This is the first movie of three in a planned expansion that will “explore the story of where Rick is taken and what he faces in a new corner of a zombie apocalypse.”
Scott M. Gimple made a statement about the films, “We have a lot on the horizon – starting with a new epic featuring one of the greatest leading actors in television history and one of the best people I’ve ever met. We want to break new ground with different, distinct stories, all part of the same world that’s captured our imagination for nearly a decade of the Dead.”
AMC has also announced that new projects and digital platform contents, related to The Walking Dead” is now in the stage of development.
“we look at this as a very long-term proposition,” David Madden said (AMC Programming President). “In the end, the plans is to make these titles feel like “large, big scope movie that will feel like major motion picture, “more so than another episode of The Walking Dead.”
