World Premiere of “Thor: Ragnarok”, Los Angeles, USA – 10 Oct 2017
Disney has clearly made a mistake as James Gunn is slated to return for the third volume of Guardians of the Galaxy volume 3.
Gunn is rehired now, after being fired last July after some insulting tweets that were over a decade old. Alan Horn, Disney’s president has met James Gunn on several occasions and has decided to bring the director back to Disney.
Gunn has signed on to write DC and Warner Bros sequel of Suicide Squad but again; they got a deal and James will return to Marvel after he finishes the sequel. Taika Waititi and Adam McKay were first considered to helm the third movie. When the first news of Gunn’s firing was received the whole cast became outspoken on social media. Disney is also about to close the deal with Fox and as the vision of Walt Disney comes around, James Gunn has gotten a second chance. Hopefully, he will not do this again…
Recently, James Gunn wrote the following on his Instagram:
I am tremendously grateful to every person out there who has supported me over the past few months. I am always learning and will continue to work at being the best human being I can be. I deeply appreciate Disney’s decision and I am excited to continue making films that investigate the ties of love that bind us all. I have been, and continue to be incredibly humbled by your love and support. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Love to you all.
