After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe.

A FAITHFUL ENDING MIXED WITH HEROIC AND EERIE MOMENTS

The unforgiven prophecy became true by the time Avengers: Infinity War was ended. As expected, it wouldn’t become a reality for the heroes. They accepted five years to go by before they decided to do something about the mass murders done by Thanos. As many already knew because of several leaked photos from sets, we all knew beforehand that the team was using time-travel to bring back the dusted characters. It spoils sort of the element of surprise when the main character is gathered, they do some test runs of the machine to see the capacity of the own theory. If it works. It lines out there after several montage-scenes, to make time go faster. As they time-travel there is a lot of memorable moments gets to enjoy. A lot of throwbacks to the essential and important moments of the entire Infinity Saga. The pace and tone vary way more than previous movies, but when the serious moment comes it’s for real. It is accurate and it stabs you in the gut.

Although, there is a moment script-wise and CGI that doesn’t feel accurate enough. Thor, the cool Thor from Infinity War, is gone. He’s a fat and unfit, a real drinker. The rage is gone, and he feels lost. Much like what Hulk was in the last one. The way Captain Marvel comes in to save the day and everything feels like an overused mechanism in their storytelling. She is gone most of the film and then saves everyone. Literally, she does it by the final battle.

As Infinity War thoroughly depicts and tell Thanos background and motifs, this is from the Avengers perspective. At least it’s more depressing in tone and in execution. It’s an adventure and showing the best and final moments with some of the best character ever put on screen. The MCU will not be the same after this one. The death of Natasha, Tony and Steve will all have a significant moment, that also affects other major characters. It has some surprise elements for the fans to enjoy, twist and turns. The original six will never be together again, just as we might have foreseen earlier. This is the end of an era. A momentum in film history has got its conclusion. The death of Nat was unheard for. It didn’t feel authentic as it did with Gamora. When they wen the first time to Vormir. Another thing is how Valkyria takes a bigger role when it doesn’t fit her character. We all figured it out that everyone would survive but not how. Somehow it felt cheap but not that it was distracting enough for the main narrative.

The acting and visual effects stand out as usual. Robert Downey Jr. makes one of his best performance as Tony Stark/Iron Man. Chris Evans feels authentic as well. The climactic battle was good and delivered some heroic moments. Music is good as always but less effective than the previous installment. Then you should also keep in mind something else too. This movie barely has a beginning. The is the end chapter and its obvious because they barely waste time on that. As much as I going to miss my absolute favorite characters and superheroes, it was a good ending. It was a good one, for our beloved heroes. One they truly deserved.
