The international bestseller book series of The Dark Tower, written by Stephen King is now coming to Amazon as a TV-series, reports Deadline.com

That’s not just it. Michael Rooker, the actor from The Walking Dead and Guardians of the Galaxy – movies from Marvel Studios, joins the cast for the upcoming series.

This reimagining of the epic story of a gunslinger is completely independent of the adaptation of the book from 2017 that failed financially on the box office and now maybe it will get redemption from the failure it first was.  The TV-series is a more faithful retelling and probably be a better adaptation.

Rooker is set to play one of the villains in this pilot, which serves as a prequel to the film with the same name. Jasper Pääkkönen is going to play Martin Broadcloak. Michael Rooker is going to be joined together with Jerome Flynn, Ana Padrão and Sam Strike as Roland Deschain. Glen Mazzara is executive producer and showrunner for the series.

This series is set to premiere sometime next year, 2020.
