Ewan McGregor Returns To The Force

According to Hollywoodreporter.com, actor Ewan McGregor has been in talks with Disney about he returning in an own upcoming spin-off series as Obi-Wan Kenobi.  And is now confirmed for the role.

Last time we saw him in the Star Wars-Universe was when he played the Jedi-master in the prequel-trilogy, all directed by the creator and previous brand-owner George Lucas.

The TV-series is planned to be streamed on Disney+. Because of Obi-Wan were such as an important figure in the last trilogies, starting from a dessert-roamer to then master and mentor to the universe-savier Luke Skywalker, so if McGregor joins the series he will have central role ones again.

Even though George Lucas no longer owns the brand and its projects, McGregor will not be a stranger to the Disney-team, being last starred as a grown-up Christopher Robin in their live-action version of Winnie the Pooh.

With this series, McGregor, he will have a chance once again to bend the character to his acting-chops and make it iconic. When Alec Guinness took on the role back in the 70s for the original film trilogy, where he earned an Oscar nomination.

On D23 Expo, it was confirmed by McGregor himself and LucasFilm Kathleen Kennedy that this is actually happening.
