Home Alone is being remade for Disney’s own streaming service.

Bob Iger, the studio chief exec on Disney, has said that these remakes that includes also A Night at the Museum, Diary of a Wimpy Kid och Cheaper By the Dozen.  This is in the plans now, after Disney has acquired 20th Century Fox, to use these franchises as “reimaginations” as Iger has said.

As Mackans Film has reported before, Disney is going to have a November-release in the US and aims for launch in the UK next year.

“So far this year we’ve released five of the top six movies,” Iger told a conference call with investors.

“Including four which have generated more than a billion dollars in global box office.”

Adding Fox’s best franchises like Avatar, Planet of the Apes, X-Men and Deadpool. Igor said:

“we’re also focused on leveraging Fox’s vast library of great titles to further enrich the content mix on our … platforms,”

There are no more words on how the Christmas-classic would be made but Disney want to achieve the same quality as the originals.
