According to hollywoodreporter.com, Netflix has now ordered a new upcoming South Korean original series which will be produced by award-winning director Hwang Dong-hyuk.
One of Hwang’s latest work is the local box office hit Miss Granny (2014), which were adapted in many Asian countries. He has a reputation with making historical fictions and heart-warming comedies, with films such as The Fortress (2017) and Silenced (2011).
Round Six will be about a group of various people who have failed at life but get a mysterious invitation to participate in a survival game to win $10 million, which will be played out in an unknown location and have them locked in until there is only one winner left. The story is based on elements from popular South Korean games from the 70-80s, such as the tag game “squid game” where players move on a squid-shaped field drawn in the dirt.
