The producer of the two latest Paddington David Heyman is going to team up to work on a new Pippi Longstocking movie.
Together with Studiocanal and the Astrid Lindgren company, there is a new adventure in store for the popular Swedish character. Pippi was created and written by Astrid Lindgren in the 1940s.
“I am thrilled to collaborate with Thomas Gustafsson, Olle Nyman and their team at the Astrid Lindgren Company and our partners at Studiocanal on this film adaptation of the brilliant and timeless Pippi Longstocking,” said Heyman in a statement.
“Pippi has endured and inspired families everywhere through her life force, the strength of character and her irrepressible joie de vivre. Astrid Lindgren’s books have been translated around the globe for many years – a testament to her vision which we are determined to honor with a new film.”
The last time this favorable girl arrived at the cinema was back in 1988 and failed immensely on the big screen. That movie was also directed by Ken Annakin. There’s also announced that a third Paddington is on the way. Hopefully, there’s more success with this new one.
