In response to fan’s tweet, lead actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson says the Shazam! (2019) spin-Off starts filming in July 2020.
For a long time, it’s been talked about giving Billy Batson’s alter-ego’s nemesis his own movie, and it appears that Johnson has been attached to the character at least equally as long. But it seems now after the success of the 2019 DC-predecessor that the project is moving forward, especially now when the lead tweets it right out to the fans.

The plot and majority of the cast have not yet been announced. This tweet seems to be the closest to an official update at the moment. The director currently attached is Jaume Collet-Serra, who’s currently working on Disney‘s upcoming action-adventure Jungle Cruise, which also has Johnson in the lead.
Because of Shazam! grossed $364.5 million worldwide on $100 million budget, and that the pair fought a lot of times in the DC Comics, it’s expected that the two rivals will meet in an upcoming blockbuster. Fans hope they will, but DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. haven’t confirmed any such plans yet.
However, If Johnson’s claims are true, we at least can hopefully expect a Black Adam film around the summer of 2021.
