Thewrap.com describes character Commissioner Gordon’s backstory:
“[…] Jim Gordon is commissioner of Gotham City’s police department, most often portrayed as a veteran officer who formed an unofficial partnership with Batman first to combat systemic corruption inside GPD and later to deal with the supervillains plaguing the city. He’s also the father of Barbara Gordon, who secretly fights crime […] as Batgirl,” writes The Wrap’s Beatrice Verhoeven and Ross A. Lincoln.
Wright will be the sixth one to portray a live-action version of Gordon and will join the ranks of Lyle Talbot, Neil Hamilton, Pat Hingle, Gary Oldman and Ben McKenzie who recently played the character in the prequel series Gotham.
This film will be directed by Matt Reeves, who wrote the script together with Mattson Tomlin, and will have Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Paul Dano as The Riddler.
The plot is not yet announced but the film is scheduled for a June 25, 2021 premiere.
