Director Matthew Vaughn whose currently working on the Kingsman film-series is in the hopes to direct a new Fantastic Four reboot after the Disney/Fox merge.

Besides Vaughn’s current work, he also has worked on X-Men-series such as X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) and X-Men: First Class (2011) which gives him some merit for the FF-director rule. He even produced the 2015 reboot of Fantastic Four, which though failed at the box office, but it seems now when the superfamily is available for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, thanks to Disney’s acquisition of Fox, he would like to take it on again and in that way apologize to the fans for the result of the last one.

“Yeah I’ve always loved the idea of doing Fantastic Four as it was originally written. I mean it’s one of my favorite comics and I actually think that Fantastic Four, as a nice piece of IP, is in theory as big as Spider-Man. I think those, the values of Fantastic Four and Spider-Man, I think those are the reason, if you’re a kid, you can imagine being a part of the Fantastic Four family and you can imagine being Peter Parker. So yeah, I think Fan-Four would be the one that would excite me the most,” expressed Vaughn.

Fans hope that if he takes on the role – he could be the one to reverse the downward spiral and give the characters the film they deserve. One of the possible obstacles is Vaughn’s busy schedule such as with the Kingsman franchise. If he maybe could pass on the directing duties on Kingman 3 to someone else, then he maybe would have the time to find a deal with Marvel Studios, whose President, Kevin Feige, indicated at last summer’s San Diego Comic-Con that an MCU-set Fantastic Four movie is in the works.
