D’Arcy Carden May Star In New Amazon Series

A League of Their Own

D’Arcy Carden from The Good Place is in talks to join the series adaptation of A League of Their Own by Amazon.

The show got announced in March 2018, and it’s rumored that the project has a pilot order. It seems that Abbi Jacobson and Will Graham will be attached as writers and executive producers, Jacobson may also star. Sony Pictures Television is the production company behind them.

But this wouldn’t be the first attempt to adapt the story. In 1993, Sony produced a sitcom series for CBS, starring Sam McMurray and Carey Lowell, but only five episodes got aired.

IMDb.com describes the original movie’s plot;

“Two sisters join the first female professional baseball league and struggle to help it succeed amidst their growing rivalry,” 

The 1992 film directed by Penny Marshall and starred the cast of Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Madonna, Rosie O’Donnell, and Lori Petty. It premiered to S commercial and critical success.

Fans of D’Arcy Carden can see her starring in the upcoming bio-drama Bombshelldirected by Jay Roach and stars Carden herself, Margot Robbie, Charlize Theron, and Jennifer Morrison.
