The two timed Oscar-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg is maybe playing the lead in Paramount Players’ Arthur the King.

Some of Wahlberg’s previous work includes The Fighter (2010) and The Departed (2006) which gave him two Oscar-nominations.

The film is an adaption of the Swedish adventure racer Mikael Lindnord’s novel Arthur: The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home. The screenplay will be penned by Michael Brandt.

Deadline.com describes the eventual plot:

“It’ll follow the real-life story of Lindnord (played by Wahlberg), […] who won the hearts of millions when he and his team adopted Arthur, a badly wounded but big-hearted stray dog who tagged along with them during an epic endurance race in Ecuador,”writes Deadline’s Amanda N’Duka.

The project will be produced by Tucker Tooley, Mark Canton, Courtney Solomon, and Tessa Tooley along with Dorothy Canton, Brandt, and Lindnord as executive producers.

Fans of Wahlberg can see him on the big screen in the upcoming movie Wonderland later this year and in Good Joe Bell, in 2020.
