Tom Hiddleston is returning as the menacing Loki, the brother to Thor. Sophia Di Martino is now expected to be the ‘female version’ of Hiddleston iconic character.
Kate Herron directs the series and Michael Waldron is the lead writer for the series that expected to have a 2021-premiere. Apparently, Di Martino is playing a female version of Loki, that has been introduced earlier in Marvel Comics. It also speculated that gender/sexuality is a part of the themes in Marvel’s upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder (2021), where Natalie Portman’s Janes Foster takes on the hammer.
Other expected Marvel-series that has already been confirmed for Disney+ are The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and WandaVision. Di Martino has been on the shortlist for Disney for a long time and recently she starred in Paul Feig’s Girls’ Code. Although, she is best known for her role in Flowers for Netflix.
