Spider-Verse Return Confirmed

Sony Pictures won an Oscar for their animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and the sequel has now a confirmed date.

Sony has set the date for the sequel on April 8, 2022. Vivo, the musical adventure with Lin-Manuel Miranda is set back to April 2021. The first movie, which was produced between Marvel/Columbia of the iconic superhero, was released in December 2018. It grossed $190 million domestically and $375 million dollars globally. This movie itself could expand the universe it tried in the first one.

Christopher Miller, who confirmed this on his twitter, has before written The Lego Movie and produced the original movie.

The plot of the first movie: 

Teen Miles Morales becomes Spider-Man of his reality, crossing his path with five counterparts from other dimensions to stop a threat for all realities.

The movie itself won also an Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2019. Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, Rodney Rothman was the directors of the first movie.
