Amazon Studios has passed on Stephen Kings’ adaptation, The Dark Tower, based on his series of novels.

Reports from Deadline says that Amazon Studios has passed on the pilot for The Dark Tower series. Their excuse was that producer and showrunner Glen Mazzara’s pilot didn’t live up to the expectation the studio had for the series. They’re also producing a Lord of the Rings-series adaptation that is currently filming.

The feature-film produced by Sony, from 2017, didn’t go well. It wasn’t officially confirmed included Michael Rooker, Jerome Flynn and Joana Ribeiro. The Dark Tower novel-series crosses several genres such as dark fantasy, science fantasy, horror and Western. These novels are also considering very hard to adapt.
