FORCED, DISASTER AND INACCURATE
After Bombshell and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, Margot Robbie is quite good at making roles interesting and entertaining. This is not. This film is a disaster. Everyone longing for Margot Robbie in a great outfit will find her in other films. I’ve never cared that much about Suicide Squad, even if it did have the potential to do something interesting.
Margot Robbie is decent in this one, as Harley Quinn. As these Hollywood films keep shovelling the hate male – the type of story down your throat, the worse the film gets. If you want a strong female character, this ain’t the way. There is another way to hate men, but this way is not the right way because? It feels forced and unnatural. The whole aspect that she broke up with The Joker was the main idea for this film. She was now independent.
That’s not the correct way to start influence a whole trilogy of female-driven story. The heart is not there. It tries to break the fourth wall and narration, but it doesn’t keep the story interesting. Most of the character is flat and even Ewan McGregor as Black Mask doesn’t feel that interesting, to begin with. As it says online, this film is not either comic accurate as the production theme tried to do their own way, which you can see with one eye open.
Saving the kid from some evil guy is not something new, even with the cute animation-intro in the beginning and you know how the story ends. Some ticks are off with this movie. Wonder Woman succeeded because even if had some stupid plot points, it was taking these things seriously in a great manner which also led to a successful income. This movie doesn’t really care about the character.
The director thinks Margot Robbie will save everything and killing bad guys will solve everything. But that doesn’t help this case. This is one of the worst DC has ever put out there. It’s even worse than Suicide Squad. Beautiful and colourful it may be, it’s not a Wes Anderson film. No. The Harley Quinn is kind of overrated, she can’t be independent. If it’s not The Joker, it will be some murderous girls that make fun of everything. And that’s why this film will not be successful than it could have been.
This film is a joke of a movie. It rushed, forced and doesn’t line up well with the characters. A movie that’s won’t be so successful at all. Besides from a heart-break and some girl-power scenes, what’s is this about? Not to mention the over-long title…
