CBS Confirms The Lead For Sequel-Series Of Clarice Starling

The FBI-agent played by Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs and Julianne Moore in the Hannibal returns to the small screen in CBS revival of the character.

Rebecca Breeds is set to play the character that is based on Thomas Harris book The Silence of the Lambs and the Oscars-winning film released in 1992, in the follow-up series produced by CBS.

The new series is taking place after the events and Starling are going to hunt down serial killers and sexual predator in Washington D.C. Reports say that this series is going to the history of Starling and her troubled childhood.  The series will be written, and executive produced by Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet.

“After more than 20 years of silence, we’re privileged to give voice to one o America’s enduring heroes – Clarice Starling.” Kutzman and Lumet said in a statement.” Clarice’s bravery and complexity has always lit the way in the dark. But hers is the very story we need today: her struggle, her resilience, her victory. Her time is now, and always.”

Breeds are set to play a younger Clarice Starling, in a sequel series set in 1993. A year after her debut and after tracking the serial killer Buffalo Bill.  These new series are going to be produced by CBS Television and MGM together with Kurtzman ‘s production company Secret Hideout. This also means the series are ignored all other instalments with the character beside the one with Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins.
