Jumanji Returns The Fourth Time

The immensely popular film-franchise Jumanji, are reported to return for another film, as the last one was very successful at the box-office last year.

Hollywood studios with Universal Pictures among them continue to do their bidding as they ramp up the space of rebooted film series based on old successful one-timer. It was made with Planet of the Apes among other rebooted franchises and with Jumanji, they took an old concept and modernized it. With that came a glorious box office which also keeps them from getting more movies out.

The fourth film is still in early development, which means details are still a bit fuzzy at the moment. However, the plot for the sequel is suggested to take place in the real world just like the first one from the 90s. Director Jake Kasdan confirms it as well that thing are moving forward for the new movie, but not in the way they anticipated cause of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We were just getting into the conversation before this global calamity and we will re-engage it as soon as everybody’s settled.” 

The director also says that the upcoming film is:

exciting on its own two feet in a way that’s comparable to what the first two were for me,” 

With that said, it means that his team are just trying to figure out what’s next for the filmseries. The post-credit scenes in Jumanji: The Next Level hinted that the new film will be taken place in the real world. Production details are still unknown as the project is still on hiatus due to the pandemic, but also that Dwayne Johnson is busy with other projects such as Black Adam.
