Paramount Pictures and SEGA Sammy has just announced that they’re in fact developing a sequel to the live-action Family-film Sonic the Hedgehog.

The original team is returning with Jeff Fowler as the director. Pat Casey and Josh Miller is sett to write the script.  The film is still in early stages as the news of a sequel has just been announced, which means there no date for production start or news on the cast.

Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher and Tory Nakahara are producing, and Haruki Satomi and Tim Miller are executive producers.  The first film was released in February this year and went to VoD and home release early due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  This happened after theatres were shut down worldwide.

The film with Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, did great on the box-office and took even record for the best opening of a video-game adaption.  Jim Carrey played the evil Dr Robotnik.
