Andy and Ryan Tohill, directors of the new remake of the classic horror film, has dropped out.

The sequel is supposed to pick up right after the original film from 1974. The film has shut down production this week. Legendary has instead hired David Blue Garcia, an Emmy winning- director/cinematographer.  Garcia has prior to this film, directed commercials. Reason for the abrupt ending, Legendary did not like what they saw. Garcia will be re-shooting the film from scratch since it’s just a week shooting. The original was a huge hit back in the 70 even if the blood was not shown, only implied.

The idea is to bring Leatherface back to reality once more for the newest generation. The film is shooting in Bulgaria and the new director originates from Texas. Fede Alvarez, the director behind The Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe are producing the horror-film with Rodolfo Sayagues from Bad Hombres. Kim Henkel, Ian Henkel, and Pat Cassidy are executive producers from Exurbia Films.
