Jamie Foxx is in talks to with Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios to return as Electro, a villain he played in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Jon Watts, the director behind the Tom Holland-starring two films titled: Spider-Man Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. And the third film is set to premiere December 17, 2021, which might change depending on how the Covid-19 pandemic evolves. Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon and Tony Revolori are expected to return for their respective roles from the two first movies. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal return as producers.
The plot is still unknown but with Jamie Foxx returning it might be the first of many of an expected shared multiverse, based on something that Wanda will do in DisneyPlus WandaVision. It was also an idea to make J.K Simmons return as J. Jonah Jameson who had a cameo in the latest film of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Electro appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which starred Andrew Garfield, was a disaster when the box office results were below expectations.
Despite a big failure in the 2014’s Spider-Man, Foxx has got some deals around and is voicing one of the characters in Pixar’s upcoming Soul.
