The Disney classic Chip n’ Dale are aimed to debut on DisneyPlus. The chipmunks-duo from Chip ’n’ Dale: Rescues Rangers from the nineties is getting a facelift with a live-action adaption.
Recent reports say the production starts on the hybrid of CGI/Live-action next spring in Los Angeles, CA. Disney is also including the film along with other original films on their streaming platform.
Unconfirmed, the original voice-actors are expecting to return; Tress MacNeille (Chip and Gadget), Corey Burton (Dale and Zipper), and Jim Cummings (Monterey Jack). The film will be directed by Akiva Schaffer along with Andy Samberg and Jorma Tacoma. David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing. The plot is still unknown but it won’t be an original story or contain a plot regarding their detective agency. Instead, it will be meta, self-referential and cool. The film has been written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, the duo who wrote for How I Met Your Mother.
The original series ran at Disney Channel between March 4, 1989, and November 19, 1990. The classic series is among of the popular series that Disney offered at the time, between 1990 and 1993 such as; DuckTales, Tale Spin, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Adventures of the Gummi Bears and more.
