Reports have given new information on more cast members joining DisneyPlus upcoming series on Obi-Wan.

The series will be of six episodes and begin production March 2021 but it will happen in the UK instead of Los Angeles.  The casting call has us insight on some new characters for the series, joining Ewan McGregor in the series.

Riley (aka Eve) Female (20-25) CO-LEAD –

A female BIPOC whose character details are being kept under wraps

Tia Female  SUPPORTING  – BIPOC

Harold Male  (Late 20s-30s) SUPPORTING – A quirky, comedic male

Bella  Female (40s) SUPPORTING – Latinx

 

Three actresses have also received callbacks of co-lead role of Riley; Thuso Mbedu, Anula Navlekar and Naomi Scott.  Of this trio, Naomi Scott is perhaps most known for Princess Jasmine in Disney’s live-action Aladdin (2019). Thuso Mbedu will soon star in Barry Jenkins’ miniseries.  The Underground Railroad for Amazon. Anula Navlekar is unknown and has just graduated from Yale School of Drama. The series will be treated as a mini-series and will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Carrie Becka and Deborah Chow, who also will direct the series.  No release date yet but it’s expected to release in 2022 on DisneyPlus.
