Disney TV-classic Darkwing Duck is expected to have a reboot-treatment on Disney Plus.
No writer is hired for the project. Executive producers are Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, and Alex McAtee from Point Grey Pictures. Alex McAtee will also oversee the project. The original series ran between 1991-1992 with three seasons, 91 episodes and was created by Tad Stones. It followed a duck superhero who secretly fought crime. The original series featured voices from Jim Cumming, Christine Cavanaugh and Terry McGovern.
It was connected with another Disney Animated series – DuckTales, both the reboot and the original with Launchpad appeared in both series. If it would go further than this and go in production, it would be plenty among other Disney titles. Point Grey has also produced Black Monday for Showtime, The Boys for Amazon which is greenlit for a third season and has a spin-off in development.
