Spike Lee is tapped to direct an upcoming origin musical-film on how Viagra came to be, for eOne.

Pfizer has currently got attention for its achievement of a COVID-19 vaccine. Spike Lee is expected to direct and has penned the script with  Kwame Kwei-Armah. Stew Steward and Heidi Rodewald write the music and songs.  It’s also based on David Kushner Esquire article – All Rise: The Untold Story of The Guys Who Launched Viagra.

The musical is based on true events on Pfizer’s discovery and groundbreaking drug-Viagra.  Matt Jackson’s Jackson Pictures will produce the film together with Lee’s 40 Acres and a Mule.  Spike Lee is most known for BlackKklansman and Da 5 Bloodcovering racism and including African-American in his films.

British Kwei-Armah is a playwright and director, who directed Twelfth Night and Tree. Matt Jackson produced The Trial of The Chicago 7.  Zev Foreman and Ilda Diffley are covering for Entertainment One. No title or release date is set yet.
