On December 10, The Walt Disney Company had their annual Investor Day where they announced TV-Series, program and films up to 2022.

Disney is certainly going all-in with the whole streaming-consumer deal, with new content from Marvel Studios, Star Wars, Pixar, National Geographic and Walt Disney Animation Studios, where all of it will be available on DisneyPlus where they planning to release 100 titles a year for the service.

Marvel Studios presented new look for 2021’s Loki, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision and the animated series What if…?. All of these trailers are available here on our website.

The third Ant-Man is titled Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michelle Pfeiffer all return in their respective roles. Peyton Reed to direct. Kathryn Newton joins the cast as Cassie Lang and Jonathan Majors plays Kang the Conqueror.

Jon Watts, director of the MCU’s trilogy of Spider-Man, is directing the new Fantastic Four.

Groot will have his own animated short series, for DisneyPlus.

James Gunn is directing a Guardians of the Galaxy – Holiday Special, releasing in 2022.

Don Cheadle gets his own series as James Rhodes aka War Machine in Armor Wars. “A classic Marvel story about Tony Stark’s worst fear coming true: what happens when his tech falls into the wrong hands?”

Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn return as Nick Fury and as Skrull Talos, from Captain Marvel, in a new series called Secret invasion. Moonknight is still happening and in development.

Captain Marvel 2 opens in theatres Nov 11, 2022. Brie Larson returns as Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel 2, directed by Nia DaCosta. Joining the cast is Ms Marvel’s Iman Vellani, and Monica Rambeau played by WandaVision’s Teyonah Parris. Ms. Marvel is heading to DisneyPlus in late 2021 with Iman Vellani as the titular character.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings have just finished production and will drop in theatres July 9th, 2021.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness, drops in theatres on March 25, 2022. Cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, & Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez. Directed by Sam Raimi, linking WandaVision and the third Spider-Man.

Inside Pixar, a long-waited documentary showing exclusive behind the scenes material from the animation studio has released the first five episodes now on DisneyPlus. More episodes are coming in 2021.

Encanto an upcoming American animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. It is scheduled to be released on November 24, 2021 and will be the 60th animated feature in the Disney Animated Canon. Directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush, the film will be written by Bush and Charise Castro Smith. Byron Howard has also directed Zootropolis, Tangled, Bolt and Bear Brothers for Disney.

 

LucasFilm is currently in Pre-production with Indiana Jones 5 and will be directed by James Mangold with Harrison Ford returning to the iconic role. The fifth film is scheduled to drop in July 2022.

First Look of LucasFilm animated Star Wars-series The Bad Batch was also released during the Investor Day. Coming shortly to DisneyPlus.

Hayden Christensen returns as Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader in the new series Obi-Wan KenobiEwan McGregor are also reprising his, but as the titular character.

Rosario Dawson is reprising her role as Ashoka in the upcoming Star Wars series Ashoka. The series is set in The Mandalorian timeline as well.

Rangers of the New Republic, a new Original Series set within the timeline of The Mandalorian , is coming to DisneyPlus.

 Andor, an Original Series set in the Star Wars universe, is streaming in 2022 on DisneyPlus.

A lot more was revealed, from all of Disney’s properties. The company aims for 300 to 350 million subscribers on their platforms, by 2024.
