Joaquin Phoenix, who recently won an Oscar for his performance as Joker will star as Napoleon Bonaparte in a film for Apple.

Ridley Scott is set to direct and produce the film under the logline of:

“swift, ruthless climb to emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, Josephine.”

David Scarpa has written the screenplay. Scott will be producing together with Kevin Walsh for Scott Free. The company has a first-look deal with Apple TV+. Other high-profiled films that expected to show up is Emancipation directed by Antonine Fuqua and Killer of the Flower Moon directed by Martin Scorsese with Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.
