An Anime LOTR-Movie In The Works

New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Animation have ordered an anime when returning to Middle-earth.

Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, who created The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance are writing the new film which is directed by Kenji Kamiyama. The film’s focus on Helm Hammerhand, the King of Rohan. Rohan’s heir was a big part of the second film’s epic battle.

“All of us at New Line feel a deep affinity for the extraordinary world J.R.R. Tolkien created, so the opportunity to dive back into Middle-earth with the team at Warner Bros. Animation is a dream come true,” enthused Warner Bros. Pictures Group COO Carolyn Blackwood, and New Line president and CCO, Richard Brener, in a statement. “Fans know Helm’s Deep as the stage for one of the greatest battles ever put to film and, with many of the same creative visionaries involved and the brilliant Kenji Kamiyama at the helm, we couldn’t be more excited to deliver a fresh vision of its history that will invite global audiences to experience the rich, complex saga of Middle-earth in a thrilling new way.”

Warner Bros. Pictures and Warner Bros. Animation are going to produce the anime Tolkien-based featured titled The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.  Kenji Kamiyama has directed TV-Series Ghost in the shell. Joseph Chou will produce. The former scribe of both trilogies of Peter Jackson, Philippa Boyens, will be consulting producer on the feature.  Jackson has blessed the making of the anime film.  This project doesn’t have anything to do with Amazon’s billion projects about The Lord of the Rings.
