The latest addition of Dracula stories The Last Voyage of The Demeter has started production and found the cast for the film.

The film is loosely based on Bram Stoker’s horror novel that introduced the character itself. Zak Olkewicz has written the script for the movie with André Øvredal as the director.

(The fiilm is) based on a single chapter, the Captain’s Log, from Bram Stoker’s classic 1897 novel DRACULA, which tells the story of the Russian schooner, Demeter, which was chartered to carry private cargo—twenty-four unmarked wooden crates—from Carpathia to London.  The film will detail the strange events that befell the doomed crew as they attempt to survive the ocean voyage, stalked each night by a terrifying presence onboard the ship. When it finally arrived near Whitby Harbour, it was derelict. There was no trace of the crew.

Corey Hawkins is taking the lead among a major ensemble of cast members where Javier Botet is playing Dracula, and also including  Liam Cunningham, David Dastmalchian, Aisling Franciosi, Jon Jon Briones, Stefan Kapicic, Nikolai Nikolaeff, Javier Botet, Woody Norman, Martin Furulund, and Chris Walley.
