Cruella Sequel Nabs Emma Stone
The prequel depicting the early life of villain Cruella De Vil has spiked some interest. Because a sequel to the prequel has been confirmed with the lead returning to the iconic role.
The news of the sequel arrived at the beginning of June and now the lead has confirmed its return.
“While the media landscape has been disrupted in a meaningful way for all distributors, their creative partners cannot be left on the sidelines to carry a disproportionate amount of the downside without the potential for upside,” Patrick Whitesell, Executive Chairman of Endeavor said of the new deal.
Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Mark Strong were all part of the first film. Stone executive produced the first one along with the starring role. The film has earned $85 million domestically and $220 million for the global box office. It has been available on DisneyPlus for an extra fee of $30.
