The third series of the Psychological serial-killer crime-thriller is currently in the early development stage.

Mindhunter, Netflix’s own series that started in 2016 and the second season released in 2019, is currently in the first stage of developing the third season of the anticipated series.

“It’s been revealed to us by sources close to Netflix that discussions between the streamer and David Fincher for a Mindhunter Season 3 are back on.”

Even if it’s the early stages of the season, Netflix hasn’t renewed yet due to the high cost of the production which was the main issue, and the halt of the production.  Something Mackans Film has also reported on.  Jonathan Groff as FBI Agent Holden Ford and Holt McCallany as FBI Agent Bill Tench are probably returning if the series goes forward but many other actors from the early season could also return to their roles such as Anna Torv, Stacey Roca, and Joe Tuttle.

According to Small Screen, they have been told:

“All I can really tell you about Mindhunter is that conversations between Netflix and Fincher are ongoing. They are discussing the possibility of bringing the show back for a third season. It’s still very early days, but Fincher sounds more upbeat about the project.”

With two-three spans between each season, audiences eager for a continuation will probably wait a couple of years before its release on the streamer. But David Fincher seems eager for the new season, which means we also are eager. Stay tuned for more.
