With the premiere nearing the third Spider-Man in the MCU, one producer has announced a new trilogy for the web-slinger.
Weirdly enough is that current actor Tom Holland has said that he doesn’t want to play the lead role of Spider-Man by the time he’s 30 years old. That would mean that we’ll get three new movies about Spider-Man in the next five years, which is a sort of treat for the fans even if there’s a brief span of time.
“This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie,” Amy Pascal revealed. “We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.”
On December 17th, the third Holland film No Way Home premieres with a multiverse story, including the former actor playing the web-slinger and the villains forming The Sinister Six. The movie has raised the stakes high and wrapping the whole trilogy of Peter Parker becoming Spider-Man.
Fandango: Is it tougher to weave together this Spider-Man universe in because Sony also has this other universe of characters like Venom and Morbius, and then there’s the MCU character. Is it a bit of a juggling act to manage all these different characters?
Amy Pascal: Well, there’s the Marvel Universe, which is one container and then there’s the Spider-Verse movies, which are different and then there’s the other universe where the Sony characters are in. We all are very respectful of each other and work together and make sure that we’re only being additive.
Producer Amy Pascal is also teasing a film with Miles Morales teaming up with Peter Parker in an upcoming film. Pascal has also determined said that this is not the last MCU in the partnership between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. With this new trilogy, there’ll be 3 trilogies and two movies, making it 11 movies overall with three different actors playing the same character.
