The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022)

In this film, Nicolas Cage is in the front, being Nicolas Cage and playing Nic Cage. It’s all about Nicolas Cage. It’s a film that can’t be more meta. That can’t without doubt spring a word of fandom and the illusion of filmmaking as a friendly and escapist thing.

Maybe it’s not the first scenes that are going to excite this piece of wonder, after all. It’s Nicolas Cage. The story follows Nicolas Cage who plays Nic Cage and cooperates with the CIA to take down a drug lord. That’s the main plot. Then it happens that they will make a movie, which in this movie.

An incredible funny relationship grows between Javi and Nic, in an unprecedented way. With so many f-bombs dropping, you would think that it’s a Samuel L. Jackson film, but it isn’t.  A that’s about Nic Cage are cramped in this almost two-hour film about a dazzling movie actor who does that little extra to excite his audience. The question is if Nicolas Cage knows how much this film is mocking him, even making out to himself – a younger self, is one of the weirdest highlights of the film. As it’s so much meta, some details are hard to keep track of, as it’s both a movie, as celebrates what Nicolas Cage once was. And the character actually grows and evolves during his time in the film which is a positive thing for this wonder of an actor.

In a movie about himself, where Cage wanted his fan to be himself, Nicolas Cage is the most Cage in this film and as weird as it might be, it stuns me how good and hilarious this film is. It’s not just about an old film actor who introduced Johnny Depp to the film industry, it’s also about bro romance, drugs, trust, and filmmaking in its top-notch form.¨

Pedro Pascal convinces Javi and brings out a different form of comedy that he seems proud of. He does the job right, and his admiration for Nic Cage in the film is what makes this film works. Has it been what Cage originally wanted with himself as a fan, playing against himself, it would be not as good as this film.

Despite the overexaggerated comedy, the stupid U.S government and the drug deals, it has a beating heart that can’t be unseen and worth watching. It’s the glory hole of Nicolas Cage.
