
Lauren Montogomery has been tapped to direct the feature film trilogy of the popular series.
The three new films will be based on Avatar: The Animated Series under the flag of Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon. And all films are planned to premiere in cinema.

“As original creators, Mike and Bryan expand the Avatar universe with us, we’re keeping it all in the family with Lauren bringing the same kind of expert, beautiful work she did on the original series to her new directing duties on the forthcoming theatrical,” says Ramsey Naito, president of the animation at Paramount and Nickelodeon Animation.”
Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino, the co-creator of the series, will executive produce. It will also be produced by the new-formed Avatar Studios with a focus on expanding the Avatar universe. Latifa Ouaou and Jason McConnell will oversee the development of the film.
