Francis Lawrence is set to direct the highly anticipated video-game adaption of BioShock.
Prior to this, Lawrence directed the Hunger Games films. Michael Green will write the script. Netflix has previously announced their partnership with Take-Two interactive and 2K to produce the film. Lawrence will return to President Snow’s dystopia in the prequel Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, with a premiere in 2023. While Lawrence does that Green is set to do the script.
BioShock sets in a visual landscape, a wonderous dystopian world, mixing both science-fiction and horror. The games in three have been a major success. Roy Lee is producing with his Vertigo Entertainment. Cameron MacConomy will executive produce for about: blank and Strauss Zelnick for Take-Two. Recently Green worked on both The Jungle Cruise and Death on the Nile.
