A BETTER SINCERE SEASON
The second season of The Cuphead Show! follows the same slapstick comedy just as before. We start off with a follow-up from season 1 that was released in February this year. Mugman and Cuphead break out of jail, getting a new adventure. The animation is still fluid, and sensible from 1930 and theirs is a more personalized adventure. We get to see new characters and old ones. Also, we expand outside the town. We even get a sea adventure that recollects our Mugman and Cuphead to what’s best in a particular moment. A lot of episodes in this second batch give adventure outside the brother’s home. We’re rushing to the town for an ice-cream man, the sea monster who has a crush on a pirate, and ghost adventures.
There’s not so much devilish in this season. That means the devil doesn’t show up not as frequently as in the first batch. He shows up whenever necessary and does it with a cliffhanger. Furthermore, we get a German rat who’s a mechanic. This is one of the better episodes. It reminds us of the same premise when a baby shows up and creates havoc. The adventure is expanded, and the best part is that the characters go outside the town.
The second season has far more integrated and far more sophisticated storylines that connect the audience on a deeper level. There’re episodes that are far more entertaining than what was available in season 1. Even from the beginning, the first episode of the season showcases a far more substance-filled batch in the second round. This time it’s easy just like before to binge-watch the whole season in a day as the episodes are only 12 minutes plus credits.
