Bloom Joins Harbour In Sony’s Gran Turismo
Bloom will join Stranger Things star David Harbour, who was announced as the lead actor in the film last year, in Sony’s upcoming blockbuster.
No further details of Bloom’s role are known at this stage. The Gran Turismo movie, based on the long-running PlayStation racing series, is being directed by Neill Blomkamp, who also worked on Tron Legacy and Top Gun Maverick. It is being produced by Sony Pictures producer Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti (Captain Philips), along with Polyphony Digital president Kazunori Yamauchi and Ron Howard. The film will be written by Jason Hall and Zach Baylan.
Orlando Bloom and David Harbour are both fairly recognizable names, so it’s clear that Sony is going for a solid cast for this project. Beyond these two names in the racing movie, there are still many other roles to cast, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that we could see some other big names appearing in this film when all is said and done.
The Gran Turismo movie finally has a release date after several years in production limbo. The movie is reportedly set for a theatrical release on August 11, 2023.
